A BUSINESSWOMAN lost P20,000 in cash and other valuables in a highway robbery staged by three gunmen in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported.
Zamboanga Peninsula Police Office (ZPPO) reported that the incident took place around 4 p.m. Wednesday along the Buug section of the Zamboanga-Pagadian Highway.

The ZPPO identified the victim as Carmencita Duplan, 45, a businesswoman from the town of Buug, Zamboanga del Sur.
The ZPPO said Duplan, together with other passengers, were aboard a truck driven by Rogelio Contorno en route to deliver prime commodities in Pagadian City when waylaid by three motorcycle-riding gunmen.
One of the suspects commandeered the truck after divesting cash and valuables from the victims.
Responding policemen have recovered the truck abandoned by the unidentified suspects a few kilometers away from the place of the incident.
