Unless with prior written permission, no portion of the content may be directly or indirectly copied, published, reproduced, modified, displayed, sold, transmitted, published or redistributed in any medium. Sun.Star does not assume responsibility for any loss or damages resulting, directly or indirectly, from the use of, or the inability to use, materials in the website for any reason, including, but not limited to, electronic or mechanical equipment failures, telephone connection problems, defects, weather, strikes, walkouts, fire, acts of God, riots, armed conflicts, acts of war, acts of terrorism, or similar causes.

The user is also solely liable for any damages resulting from any infringement of patent, copyright, trademark or other proprietary right resulting from a user's utilization of the website.

The user acknowledges that all information, data, software, photographs, graphics, messages or other materials posted by any person or entity not affiliated with Sun.Star is the sole responsibility of the person from which the content originated.

Neither does Sun.Star bear liability for any defamatory, offensive or illegal conduct of any user.

USER SUBMISSIONS/MONITORING

All electronic forums made available to users are the sole property of the website and are not a public forum.

As such, Sun.Star reserves the right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, display and use for any purpose all messages posted in the message board and speak-out sections and any e-mail sent to the website (in whole or in part) and to incorporate any such messages or e-mails in any form, media or technology now known or later developed.

From time to time, Sun.Star may monitor for all lawful purposes any and all content transmitted or received through the website. During monitoring, information may be examined, recorded, copied, and used for authorized purposes. All content, including personal information, placed on or sent over the website may be monitored. Use of materials in the website, authorized or unauthorized, constitutes consent to such monitoring.

The website reserves the right to preserve and disclose content if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with legal processes.

PRIVACY POLICY

Records of registration of users become the property of Sun.Star and the website reserves the right to use the information for marketing and membership endeavors.

Sun.Star agrees not to share any information it collects about its users online, unless: 1) users are notified at the time the data are collected 2) the information is necessary to provide users the product or service they requested 3) the information is received as a consequence of a contest entry and has to be shared with the contest sponsor 4) the data are provided to companies contracted by Sun.Star to provide a product or service to users (companies may not use the data other than to assist Sun.Star) 5) the entity with whom it is shared is an affiliate of Sun.Star Publishing Inc.

Electronic mail address of users may become public when they participate in any of the Sun.Star website's electronic forums.

The Sun.Star website, like all major websites, uses cookies, which are pieces of information that a website transfer's to a user's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. The use of cookies is to ensure web surfing easier by saving users' preferences while they are at the site.

The website also makes use of a tracker to collect information about and learn preferences of its visitors and may share the information with current and prospective advertisers and affiliated groups.

CHANGES TO POLICY: Sun.Star may change the policy from time to time at its discretion. Continued use of the site indicates consent to any provision in this agreement and amendments to it. This policy was last updated on January 23, 2004.
