THE Dumaguete Police Office warned the public against the operation of Bodol-Bodol gang in the city, the latest victim of which is a visitor from Jimalalud town Friday morning.
Police identified the victim as Enel Fabillar, of legal age and a resident of Jimalalud.
Fabillar told police that he and his brother was at the Rizal Boulevard when an unidentified man approached them. The man asked his assistance where the Dumaguete Police station is located.
The victim accompanied the swindler to Lee Plaza Department store along Perdices street.
According to the victim, the swindler told him that he would like to buy three cartoons of milk inside the store, and borrowed Fabillar's Nokia 1100 cellphone worth P2,100.
Fabillar handed over his cellphone and the suspect told him to wait outside the store.
The victim waited for half an hour, but the suspect did not come back.
