Davao traders gear up for trade expo in October
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

THE Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) identifies the highlights of the biggest trade and exposition event in Davao City, the 10th Davao Trade Expo (Date) 2008, slated on October 23 to 25 at the Davao Convention and Trade Center.

With this year's theme "Davao: Land of Great Opportunities and Endless Possibilities," Date will enable participants to view the most up-to-date technologies, products, and services from over 200 exhibitors nationwide. It will also enable to fortify one's corporate green initiatives and discover new healthy organic products.

Date is also a venue to meet official group pavilions of some of the major local government units (LGUs), foreign embassies, and government initiative projects.

Aside from these, Date offers a venue to establish networking with market leaders during the Date Gala Night and Golf Tournament.

The event also allows one to meet more than 4,000 industry and business professionals. It is an occasion in which one can be kept informed about the industry's latest trends and developments through a series of trainings and seminars.

Date 2008, which was launched recently, will again take another step for its continuing advocacy to transform Davao City as a destination of investment opportunities and development.

The DCCCII identifies key opportunities available in the region which include the dynamic economy; geographical accessibility; resilient export base; peaceful business climate; cost of doing business; infrastructure; responsiveness of LGU; better quality life; and quality human resources.

Date 2008 will focus on food processing and technology, agro-industrial, local franchises, tourism, ICT, electronics and telecommunications, green advocates and organic products, and others.
