Donations pour

WITH an overwhelming show of support from various sectors and organizations, ABS-CBN Cebu brought the Kapamilya Relief Campaign to Bantayan island, where the biggest number of families in Cebu Province were affected by typhoon Frank.

Apart from launching broadcast plugs for both radio and TV, ABS-CBN Cebu set up several drop-off points in the city.

Organizations

Various organizations, including those from the academe, participated in the week-long repacking of the goods.

With the aid of the Philippine Army, the first batch of relief goods were delivered to Bantayan.

The goods were distributed in the Bantayan Multi-Purpose Center in the presence of Bantayan Mayor Geralyn Escario.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development 7 also offered aid to the victims after the Kapamilya relief goods
distribution.

The second batch of relief goods were brought to Madridejos, also in Bantayan island, barely five days after the first relief campaign.

Some 1,363 families who were affected and have lost their homes each received one bag of groceries and one sack of used clothing. More than P1 million worth of goods have already been given away.

After the second relief distribution, another batch will be delivered this week to almost 2,000 families in Sta. Fe, another town in Bantayan island.

The campaign is also a continuing and complementary project of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas-Cebu.
