City Hall lauds honest cabbie

The turn over of the mobile phone was personally witnessed by Mayor Constantino Jaraula at the City Hall, together with City Administrator Griscelda Joson, City Tourism Officer Imma Rae Gatuslao, and the operator of Ever Taxi, Mr. Elvino Tan.

Mayor Jaraula said the honesty displayed by Pailagao should serve as an example, not only among taxi drivers but all Cagayanons, as the City Government envisions transforming Cagayan de Oro as a city of character.

The city mayor also pointed out that the laudable gesture displayed by Pailagao should serve as an inspiration to all taxi drivers. He said that it would help boost the province's image.

In recognition of Pailaga's honest gesture, Jaraula instructed City Administrator Griscelda Joson to include the taxi driver in the list of Cagayanons who will be honored during the celebration of the city's 58th Charter Day anniversary in June this year.

The mayor said that the honesty manifested by local taxi drivers will also do good for the promotion of Cagayan de Oro as a safe place to stay for tourists and investors. (CIO)
