Escalante conducts bloodletting activity

THE City of Escalante, in coordination with the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and the Provincial Health Office, conducted a bloodletting activity last April 30 at the City Health Office.

The monthly activity was in support of the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP), which is one of the priority health projects of Mayor Melecio Yap Jr.

It aims to provide a ready supply of blood for needy residents, which could save lives at lesser costs. Some 136 bags of blood were taken out of 160 donors screened.

Donors came from the 21 barangays of the city with the full support of their respective barangay captains. Among those present were punong barangays Aladino Lumayno Jr. of Barangay Balinatawak, Virgelio Gamao of Barangay Jonobjonob, Eduardo Raboy Jr. of Barangay Langub, Juanito Gregorio of Barangay Dian-ay, Rodolfo Magsucang of Barangay Buenavista, and Benigno Mala-ay of Barangay Washington.
