was a page 1 above-the-fold story on the hospitalization of the
former archbishop of Cebu, Julio Cardinal Rosales. First Lady Imelda
Romualdez Marcos ordered the airlifting of Rosales to Manila and
then to Houston, Texas after he was diagnosed as suffering from
cancer of the liver. Rosales retired on September 18, when he turned
76, and was succeeded by Msgr. Ricardo Vidal.

Fernandez, Valentino Legaspi, Antonio Cuenco, Bartolome Cabangbang
and Dr. Filemon Alberca.
