SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union -- The Intelligence Branch of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) scored big recently when they collared three most wanted persons in a span of three hours.
The arrest of the three was the latest of a series accomplishments in line with PRO1’s “Impact Project on Most Wanted Persons” spearheaded by the Regional Intelligence Division.

First to be collared early morning Wednesday was Rodolfo Pagkaliwangan, 49 years old, a native of Quezon province.
Combined elements of the PRO1 Regional Special Operations Group and the Regional Mobile Group 1 2nd Company arrested Pangkaliwangan at his residence at Sitio Payas, Barangay San Jose in Agoo, La Union.
Pangakaliwanan, an escaped prisoner from the Quezon Provincial Jail, was wanted for murder with an approved monetary reward of P165,000.
The follow-up operation conducted by the authorities at Barangay San Antonio, Agoo led to the arrest of 50-year old Ruben, Eduardo’s brother. The two were both charged for the killing of Elpidio Lalusen in San Antonio, Quezon sometime in 1999.
About 9 a.m. that day, the same operating elements captured Niño Almoite, 33, in Barangay Paringao, Bauang, La Union.
Almoite, a son-in-law of one of the Pagkaliwangan brothers, has a warrant of arrest Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Serious Physical Injuries and Damage to Property. This was issued by Judge Manuel R. Aquino of MTCC Branch 1, San Fernando City, La Union.
PRO1 Director Ramon Gatan commended the operating elements “for their exemplary police work, and the community at large for their support and cooperation, that led to these significant accomplishments. (LCMY/Sunnex)
