CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Kapampangan Kontra Cha-cha (K2C2) movement is mobilizing its forces for “a massive rally” against the proposed constitutional amendments and the convening of Constituent Assembly (Con-Ass) on July 24.
Launched last June 12, the K2C2 met for the fourth time at the executive session hall of the Capitol to discuss its plans and create contingencies.

The late afternoon meeting was led by Governor Eddie Panlilio, Kilusan Para sa Demokrasya-Central Luzon (KPD-CL) head Aurora Broquil, officials of several civil society groups, Archdiocesan Council for the Laity, farmers’ groups, and student leaders from the University of the Assumption and Holy Angel University.
Branding it as “untimely and full of hidden agenda and politics,” UA Supreme Student Council Adviser Precious Estrada and Dean of Student Affairs Rowen Dizon both manifested the support of the university and its students in the move to assail Charter change (Cha-cha) and the Con-Ass.
Other leaders in the forum corroborated the educators’ statements, saying there is an urgent need to raise the level of consciousness of the people regarding the issues.
Broquil, for her part, said the movement’s slogan is “King Con-Ass at Cha-Cha, Pampanga Eya Bisa (Pampanga won’t agree with Con-Ass and Cha-Cha).”
The group, she added, called for the massive education of people through the Internet sites, Facebook, blogs and text brigades.
“Let us use technology and invite them (people) to these sites so we can a large scale analysis,” Broquil said.
According to her, these would be reinforced with a series of fora, circle of discernments, the creation of a speakers’ bureau and a pastoral letter, which they would seek from Archbishop Paciano Aniceto.
