CDC to host renal disease orientation for workers, locators

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced Monday the holding of an orientation on Renal Disease Control Program (Redcop) for company workers, physicians, nurses and business administrators on October 20.

According to CDC Health Services Office the orientation will start at 2 p.m. and will feature talks on prevention and early detection of renal problems among employees and reduce kidney failure related deaths through Redcop.

Redcop is a program of DOH and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) with components such as research, training advocacy and quality assurance.

The goal of the program is to reduce the morbidity and mortality from kidney disease and end stage renal disease (ESRD) in the Philippines through a comprehensive and integrated approach on renal disease management.

The orientation is also open to business administrators and managers of various businesses and institutions inside this Freeport.

The CDC Health Services Office said, in a statement, that the orientation is part of the move of CDC to maintain strong manpower inside the Freeport and attend to the social well being of employees here.

Clark Investors and Locators Association (Cila) executive director Justice Dalida said that the orientation would be big help for locators who would like to keep their manpower strong and disease free.

"We comment CDC president Benny Ricafort for such moves. Employers and our locators would be guided properly on kidney diseases and in turn can make measures to help prevent the occurrence of such among our workers inside the Freeport," Dalida said.

Interested parties may inquire through Juliet Janapon at 599-3854. Venue for the orientation is at the CDC Health Services Office located along Osmena cor Cardinal Santos Sts. near the Clark Museum.
