A busy weekend for Angeles City


ANGELES City had its hands full of exciting, merry and colorful activities, spearheaded by the Angeles City Tourism Office together with other government agencies and the private sector,

AS part of the annual Twin Fiesta '09 celebration, activities were lined-up to the delight of its residents, local and foreign tourists led by Ms. Pie Angeles-Flores of Angeles City Tourism.

Sun.Star accepts donations for victims of Typhoon Ondoy

The annual car show, which has been celebrated for the past two years at the Balibago Service Road, has now moved to a bigger venue to accommodate more exciting entrees.

Held at the SM City Clark Parking Lot (Fountain Area), on October 17, this year's 3rd Angeles City Twin Fiesta Car Show has been participated in by exhibitors from all over; namely, Angeles City, Bataan, Bulacan, City of San Fernando, La Union, Mabalacat, Manila, Parañaque, and Tarlac.

Car enthusiasts have been thrilled to seeing different types of vehicles ranging from Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, Volkswagen Fastback, Volswagen Northback, Toyota Vios, Toyota MR-S, Toyota Hi-Lux, Toyota T100, Toyota LC100, Toyota Starlet, Land Cruiser 40 Series, Mitsubishi Montero, Mitsubishi Galant GTI, Nissan Terrano, Nissan Frontier, Kia CDS, Kia Pride, Mazda RX7, Mazda Miatta, Honda Fit, Honda Civic V-Tech, Honda EG6 Hatchback, EG9, Hummer, BMW Z3, Mercedes Benz SLK 230, Ford Jeep, Willys' M38, M151 A2-Kennedy, EVO IV, and Porche.

Moreover, trophies and certificates of recognition have been awarded to the winners of thirty different categories.

Soon after the car show, the grand finalists of the Battle of the Bands 2009 have entertained the big crowd.

Each group has rendered original compositions for the San Miguel Beer Jingle and Angeles City Jingle.

Prizes in cash and in kind have been conferred to the worthy bands.

On the same day of October 17, at the San Nicolas Public Market, participants from Angeles City, Baguio City, Bulacan, Florida Blanca, Lubao, and Olongapo City have graced Sayaw Central Luzon Grand Finals.

Cash prizes have been bestowed to the deserving groups who have brought the house down with their stunning dance numbers.

On October 18, ten teams from different colleges like Republic Central College, Holy Angel University, University of the Assumption-San Fernando, and Lyceum-Subic-Olongapo, have signed up for the Beach Volleyball, held at Cut-cut People's Gym.

Trophies and medals have awaited the dynamic and energetic champions.

Simultaneously on October 18, residents, local and foreign visitors have been thrilled and amused with fifty horses and ten matches during the Tilbury Harness Race, held at Jake Gonzales Street, with participants from Angeles City, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, City of San Fernando, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, and Porac.
