Biz group, officials discuss traffic congestion along 2 malls

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO-- Discussions on how to solve traffic problems at the portion of the Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) along the two big malls took place.

The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham) on Wednesday met with traffic officials of the city and Mexico town, along with officials of SM City Pampanga and Robinsons Pampanga to discuss regarding traffic solutions.

PamCham’s Infrastructure Directorate headed by Director Bong Mah initiated the consultative meeting to explore possible solutions to the “pestering” traffic congestion in front of SM City Pampanga and Robinson’s Starmills which has been affecting motorists and passengers for the past few months.

“The traffic congestion in the area, especially during business hours and rush hours, greatly affects business not just on the part of the two malls but also of motorists traveling along
JASA,” Mah said, stressing that the said road is a common route for merchandise coming from neighboring provinces like Nueva Ecija.

“The discussion during the meeting was straightforward and quite productive, with all the concerned agencies, LGU departments, law enforcement authorities and executives of SM and Robinson Starmills articulating their positions, suggestions and respective solutions to the exasperating gridlock,” he said.

Mah added that it became clear during the meeting that all concerned parties were unanimous in their desire to alleviate the recurrent clogging in the area.

However, he said that PamCham would need to get other
stakeholders to sit down, objectively analyze and sensibly put their acts together to resolve the problem.

It was agreed upon in the meeting that all parties will draw up acceptable plans in a few days to address the traffic issue in the area.

Present in the consultative meeting were Department of Public Works and Highways Engr. Amor Aguas, Engr. Armando Austria of the Provincial Engineer’s Office, Mexico Municipal

Engr. Jesus Pangilinan, SM City Pampanga PR Officer Roselle Sarmiento, Architect Oliver Gadia of Robinsonsland, among others.

Greetings Pampanga, There

Greetings Pampanga,

There is now a solution to the traffic congestion. But the US does not really want to solve traffic congestion as it employs millions and creates need for more (more roads, more waste, more spending, more taxes, more money for certain in power).

US engineer visiting Pampanga in next few weeks desires to share a true solution. And as with any true solution, the cost is zero. The solution must first be introduced in a community. Then a city, country, etc.

Hoping to communicate with community members who desire to see the true solution to vehicle traffic congestion.

This is a community service, not a commercial notice.
Thank you,
Eric

Why are the buses coming

Why are the buses coming from Bataan and Zambales routed through these malls before going to Manila? Don't they know it contributes much to traffic congestion in the area?

Obviously, an Environmental

Obviously, an Environmental Impact study would have been the smart thing to have done prior to approving the building of these malls in the first place. SM and Robinson bear the brunt of the responsibility to correct this issue. They have the expertise to draw, design, and build the proper traffic management solution, and should be required to do so. Just keep the engineers who "designed" the San Fernando Intersection flyover as far away as possible!
