The Perpsquad grabbed their fourth championship trophy since the cheerleading event started in 2004.
Last season's champion Jose Rizal University (JRU) Pep Squad moved back to 1st runner-up with 311/400 points. It will take home 55,000 and each member also received a cell phone courtesy of Samsung.
The JRU Pep Squad performed their perfectly executed stunts to the tune of OPM songs.
Coach Ramon Christopher of JRU shared that despite the difficulties they encountered because of the recent typhoons that hit the country, they were still able to come out with a good performance.
The Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals Pep Squad, one of the guest schools for the current season, took home P45,000 for scoring 244 points making them the 2nd-runner up.
The red-hot Generals, headed by coach Joseph Servanez, pulled off a nine-person pyramid stunt out of their one-month only training.
Also in the competition was the Pampanga-based Angeles University Foundation (AUF) Pep Squad who almost completed their routine flawlessly but some mistakes took place when it was about to end.
The team's coach said he is still proud of his squad that they were able to perform in front of the 10 participating schools.
AUF's Jojo Cabales won herself a digital camera with dual LCD screens for her "Samsung Stunner'" award.
The Cheerleading Association of host school San Beda College also failed to finish their routine with a bang.
Some of the dancers of the Arellano University (AU) Pep Squad, Golden Stags Cheerleading Squad, and the College of St. Benilde (CSB) Pep Squad lost their balance while performing their stunts.
Last year's third-placer CSB Pep Squad also failed to complete most of their pyramids.
The Letran Cheering Squad, who always figured out in the top four since the competition, danced to different types of music including classical and rock and roll.
The Mapua Cheering Cardinals had difficulties in its partner stunts but proved creativity in their pyramids.
Some innovations were implemented in the competition as the collegiate league collaborated with the National Cheerleading Championship, the only cheerleading body following international standards.
Henry Atayde, chairman of the NCAA cheerleading competition, said: "We've changed the format. This is not called cheerdancing anymore, this is already called cheerleading,"
