A 63-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested after wrestling with a neighbor who accused her of being a witch, Saturday night.

The San Pedro Police arrested one alias Manang Mila, a native of Kahuran, Cotabato City and presently residing at Mapa Extension, Barangay 12-B Poblacion, Davao City.

Manang Mila said the police arrested her around 8 p.m. Saturday after she wrestled with one alias Irish.

"Ila akong ginpasinglan nga aswang daw ako mao nga naakig ako kang Irish. Ginkulata ako niya kauban sang iyang bana mao nga damo ako bun-og sang ako lawas (They accused me of being a witch that's why I got angry at Irish. She and her husband mauled me. My body is full of bruises)," Manang Mila said.

The woman said she had been accused of being a witch several times by residents, forcing her to fight back.

"Upat na siguro ka beses na nagsiling sila sa akon nga ako daw aswang. Kadtong October 17, ginkulata ako nila ni Ryan, Jomar kag Junil. Kagab-i ginkulata ako liwat ni Irish kag iyang bana (They have accused me at least four times before. Last October 17, Ryan, Jomar and Junil also mauled me)," Manang Mila said.

She denied practicing witchcraft but admitted healing those who are sick using unorthodox means.

"Nagapanambal man ako sang mga tawo. Diyos nalang gid ang mag-igo sa ila bala (I heal those who are sick. I offer all of them to God)," she said. (AD)
