MetroLifestyle showcases philosophy of Martial Arts

AT THE "Aeromax 2: Fitness Marathon to the Max!" staged last October 17, the whole day event was opened with Bushido Karate "Octoberfist" Invitational Tournament in the morning, followed by Muay Thai and Fitness Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Demo-Classes in the afternoon.

These programs aim to showcase different Martial Arts Classes being offered at MetroLifestyle and the practical application of the Philosophy of Martial Arts.

A martial artist can become a total person by equally developing all three aspects of mind, body and spirit. This is also true and parallel with MetroLifestyle's business clich, "Nurturing your mind, body and soul."

Firstly, a martial artist develops his body through the physical exercises involved in martial arts training. Rigorous physical conditioning exercises lead to increased strength, endurance, flexibility and balance.

The mind is developed through mental training, which calls for concentration and active learning in the way of listening, reading and thinking.

A strong mind and body must be completed with strength in Spirit. A Martial Artist must have a goal in life and a firm foundation of beliefs to guide him.

The true martial artist is humble, courageous and confident, willing to give way to others but unwilling to accept injustice.

The practical applications of these three aspects were showcased in the event, including some explanation and workshop-based teaching from the Instructors and practitioners of MetroLifestyle Fitness Brazilian Jiujitsu.

MetroLifestyle-Bushido Kai, an affiliate of American Bushido Kai Karate Asso. (ABKA) in Texas, USA, hosted the "Octoberfist" Invitational Tournament.

Participating martial arts gyms include Hansoo Taekwondo, Japanese Karate Association, MetroLifestyle-Bushido Kai, and King?s Sword Bushido Kai Karate.

The practice of the martial arts is a pursuit of personal improvement.
