Luzon generally gets supply of meat and poultry products from the region.
Western Visayas is one of the major suppliers of pork and other livestock products in the country. The DA said that with this development, the producers here will get a boost in their business.
Meanwhile, Nacionales said the DA, headed by Secretary Arthur Yap, presently has a project on mitigating the supply of pork and livestock. The said project is aimed at restocking pigs for the demands in the Christmas season and the first quarter of next year.
According to Nacionales, it is important that a mitigating measure be made to ensure the abundance of pork supply in the coming days.
