ELI Lagman fired a total of 72 points besting other local parbusters to rule the 1st Pines City Lions Club Open Golf Tournament held on October 25 at the Baguio Country Club golf course.
Ding Paeng eked out a hard earned win in Class A of the Members/Guest Division to win the championship edging Elmer Soria who had a similar 75 point gross and 12 handicaps. Euls Austin, after winning the longest drive special award won second runner-up.

Dai Tscuchiya won the championship in Class B after having a gross of 81 besting Ferdie Abitan who settled for first runner-up plum with Isonn Angheng taking the second runner-up honor.
Nap Maranan, meanwhile, bagged the championship crown in Class A-Lions Division besting BCC recreations manager JR Villanueva and Romy Tio who settled for first and second runner-up in the one-day golf tournament.
In Class B action, Benito Ang fired 84 points to bag the championship crown, edging BCC resident manager Shin Paul Chan who had 84 to settle for the 1st runner-up honors. Rey Dacones came in at second runner-up with his 84 who had a 17.3 handicap.
Earl Farrel, on the other hand, scored an 84 to win the championship crown in Class C wars, defeating Jun Benavides who fired 89 with Eric Ganga settling for the second runner-up honors after firing 90 points.
Rey Dacones was awarded the nearest to the pin while Col. Elmer Soria had the accurate drive with Libby Ricafort winning the most exercised award.
The tournament is also a preparation of sorts for the participants in the upcoming 60th Fil-Am Invitational golf tournament this coming November with close to 1,200 golfers from around the globe expected to suit up for the two week tournament.
Both Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay has been sprucing up their golf courses as early as September, renovations will be finished before the opening on November 25.
The annual golfing tournament will push through on November 25 to December 12 despite the damages of highways and major road networks leading to the Summer Capital brought about by Typhoon Pepeng.
The event, which has 1,200 registered participants, will be a big boost to the city's sagging economy, and will be a big help for the recovery of the tourism industry, particularly the hospitality and service sectors.
The Fil-Am golf has been drawing a lot of attention with participants of the tournament mostly coming from the Asia-Pacific region.
It aims to invite people from all over the world, and to let them enjoy the entertainment derived from the tournament.
