More than 1,200 students and coaches from the NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao took part in the first-ever National Milo Little Olympics.
"Alam naman natin na pagdating sa football medyo malayo pa ang hahabulin natin unlike teams from Visayas and Mindanao na talagang grabe ang promotion ng football but still lumaban yung team," Bocalan told Sun.Star.
The national event showcased the country's finest student athletes as they compete in 12 sports disciplines.
Events on tap were athletics, badminton, chess, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, scrabble, swimming, sepak takraw, table tennis, taekwondo and volleyball.
Age group athletes who are 12 years old and under, as well as those who are 17 years old and under will now have an opportunity to excel and experience Olympic-type competitions when the annual Milo Little Olympics will have a national finals starting this year.
BCNHS, representing Luzon in the Milo Olympics, bowed to a more experienced Visayas team and later on to the more cohesive Mindanao team then edged out National Capital region to claim the bronze in the four-team event.
"All though I'm not proud of our performance, still the boys gave their best because they know that support will eventually trickle in once football became popular here," added Bocalan, who was thankful for BCNHS for giving the much needed support for the team.
