LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Governor Nestor Fongwan is pushing for the opening of four Atok roads.
The roads leading to barangays Pasdong, Naguey, Topdac, Poblacion and Caliking still remain closed.
"We have to open these roads before another typhoon comes," Fongwan said.

Atok Mayor Concepcion Balao has been transporting relief goods to affected barangay using porters. School for the isolated areas have likewise been postponed for the safety of children.
Weeks after the typhoon, the trek going to the barangays was still dangerous as massive slides have blocked roads.
Initially, Balao said clearing of the Halsema highway was ongoing but not for the areas in Atok town.
Fongwan made an ocular inspection of the areas Friday morning to fast track clearing operations.
There are 13 destroyed homes and eight damaged homes in the highland town. Local government units have observed disaster preparedness since the onslaught of Typhoon Pepeng, pushing the governor to clear roads when the threat of Typhoon Santi was raised.
