VISITING darters from other parts of the country dominated the open singles competition of the 10th MassKara Open Darts invitational tournament.
The event was held last October 10-11, at the New Top's Millennium Plaza bowling Lanes in Bacolod City.

The open singles championship was a battle between Cebuano nationally rated darters Roy Laude and William Encorporado, which Laude won via a 3-0 shutout in the 501 best-of-5 duel.
Encorporado settled for first runner-up honors while Leo Emolaga of San Carlos City United Darters Association (Scuda) followed by Dong Allarce also of Scuda as third runner-up.
Sharp, Panasonic, Condura, Sanyo and Terton Craft sponsored the annual regular event held during the MassKara celebration, with the full support of The New Top's Millennium Plaza management, for the dartboards. The Association of Negros Darters and Dart Clubs (ANDDC) organized the event.
The trio of ANDDC's Rommel Bagotayao and Michael Dalpatan of Silay City and Joseph Pilpil of Bacolod Fire Department topped the 3-man team championship.
The doubles championship went to the duo of Meloy Pechera Jr. and RR Herrera of Scuda, who bested the Roger Dequit of Cebu City and Bernard Criador of ANDDC, Bacolod City.
The events contested were classified Doubles, Classified Three-Man Team, and Open Singles.
Participating darters came from Cebu City, Kalibo, Iloilo, Dumaguete, Tanjay and San Carlos cities. A total of 82 darters competed in the doubles event, 66 in the three-man team and another 46 in the open singles category.
Other results showed Classified Doubles Second Runner-up Edward Kapaw-an of Iloilo and James Colinco of Bacolod; Third Runner-up Edwin Cornelio and Vincent Santisteban of Scuda; Joint fifth/sixth Florendio Reales/Reyden Colina (Scuda) and Roy Laude (Cebu)/Raymund Pillone (BAaciwa); Joint seventh/eighth Bebot Bargamento/Ian Magbanua (Scuda) and Wilfredo Bancolon/Paolo Piccio (Scuda).
In the Classified Three-Man Team competition, First Runner-up were William Encorporado (Cebu) Genard Laureta and Ryan Samson (Scuda); Second Runner-up were Jing Faisan (Talisay)/Chad Dalpatan (Silay)/Reyden Colina (Scuda); and Third Runner-up were Dan Dairocas, Matmat Agraviador and Billy Limpangog (Scuda).
Meanwhile, finishing in joint fifth/sixth place in the open singles were Carlos Demegillo (ANDDC, Bacolod City) and Alvin Villa (Cebu); while in joint seventh/eighth place were Richmond Ganon (Silay) and Loloy Reales (Scuda). (HCV With a report from Gino Amantillo)
